If you look to the top right of this picture, it looks as if a fight has broken out in the watching crowd. Catholics and rugby...and fighting, seem to go together...45 years on and nowt's changed...Bloody philistines! lol

Hard to believe WIGAN HIGHFIELD PLAYED ON THAT PITCH, have yo seen it today 15/02/16 bloody house on it now.my young sister left school and went to "slipper works" I was on the field one night in summer waiting for the game to start and there was a huge pitchroller for when pitch got lumpy, there were 2 large shafts of wood for which horses could pull it ,anyway we were climbing on when my big sister fell and somehow got a huge gash in her thigh it was deep and lots of blood ,i'll never forget that.we lived just at top of tunstall lane on Ormskirk road 460, up near ravin club, they were smashing times ....
