I'm pretty sure that the two gents in the middle are Tom Pennington, left, and his brother whose name I cant remember. On either side of them are their respective sons, John an the left and David on the right.Sadly David passed away a few weeks ago.

From the age of seven I used to mate round with Janet their grandaughter, I also remember her Uncle John. Janet had a dolls house which was kept at the top of her Gran and Grandads house in Diccinson Street which later became WVS HQ. All the furniture in the dolls house was miniture replicas of the furniture in the shop absolutely brilliant!!

I worked at penningtons for a short time in 1997, I worked on the shop floor with both john and David, and another fellow called Ronnie who I've tried to trace for some years, I had a great. Time working there with some really nice people and some fantastic memories as a young lad. Sadly I moved back to scotland and lost touch. I'm so sorry to hear about David, he was a great guy and a lovely family to work for, something I will always cherish and be thankful for

My first job from leaving school in 1969 for the princely sum of £4.10 shillings a week, all four on the photo was/are Penningtons ,the two older chaps are Mr Tom and Mr Jack as we called them, the two younger are theyre sons,David and John Pennington,l worked on the vans as second mate, and on Saturdays worked in the shop trying to sell furniture,l like the job but one of the bosses was a right illegitimate person can't mention his name ,,,,ohhh OK then,it was john, crackin job but for him, the other son David was stricked but fair and you could have a laugh with,l remember Billy Bibby his brother,,,,,,Derek,Bob Windsor who l worked with that drove one of the vans,Eric who drove a van with a lad who ended up one of my best mates,Willy Alder, who came from Ireland,we started there on the same day, great days, great place, great people
