if im not mistaken the shop on the corner were a sweet shop i use to there many moons ago

Just around the corner was a cafe with a juke box in..ah my teenage years ,Bill Haley..Guy Mitchel..and of course Elvis..happy days.

There was a newsagents here named Bradshaws, next door to Davenports the Watchmakers, and in the 60's Sammy Bradshaw and his wife Florrie had a flourishing business taking people for driving lessons. The spare land was where Palatine's was.

This is the end of Millgate; it being at Schole's bridge, the Douglas. When my parents lived in Douglas House, their address was Millgate.

according to ordanance survey millgate ended at scholes crossing

The 1st shop on the picture was my dad's shop Davenport's watch and clock repairs and jewellers. Next door I think sold TVs then the sweet shop. Round the corner was the museum
