My Grandma used to live just off Ridyard St, at 6, Larch Avem her name was Wilding.

My parents used to have a grocer's shop around where the white car is, just lower down than Ridyard St. They finally sold the shop in 1958 after 6 years.

Peter is that the small shop that became Bromilows?

I had a friend called veronica wilding who lived in Larch Ave.

The next opening after Ridyard St is Almond Grove, there was four shops @ the start of the next block, Barlow's, then Cunninghams butchers, Jean,s baby shop then Worthingtons green grocers, my mum & dads shop. Dad worked on the railway after the war & helped run the shop. He did that from 1959 until 1966, they sold the shop in 1984 & retired. Both of them worked hard to bring me & my sister up there, it was a struggle sometimes because Asda opened after a few years & that took a lot of trade away.
