A slightly earlier photo of the previous one showing the horse transport before they reached the Clarence Hotel and giving a clearer view of the backdrop. I had to look very closely before I realised it was Wigan, not a bad image considering the town was a "famous" or rather infamous music hall joke for so many years for all the wrong reasons. The place and people, I think, look somewhat affluent.

The road appears to be 3 times as wide as it is today I can only presume that the buildings on the right, have been replaced with the buildings that are there now. There is no way they can be the same buildings as today.

You will find because the images have been taken as screen shots off a video the frame aspect will be wider, hence giving the illusion of a much wider street. The same applies today in order to get as much of the panoramic view as possible, the lens will be set at a quite wide angle to "fill the picture"
