I've seen this photo before when I think it was listed as being in Standishgate, I also think a shop name was given but I can't be sure.

The same photo appears in Bob Blakeman's book, "Wigan. A Historical Souvenir". It's on page 104 and is listed as Miss Thomas's Toffee Shop in Standishgate.
Old shops, but what could the fancy chimneys in the background belong too.
