View of the heapstead at No1 tower just before shaft filling commenced.Inside it had a runaround facility and a tippler unit for mine cars but it was very rarely used.Most of the supplies went down the pit from ground level.The gantry to allow men access to the pit bank can be seen on the right of the photo.
