This view of W5s return roadway clearly shows the problems Parkside had with roadway stability.The convergeance on the right hand side of the tunnel has twisted and contorted the arches like plasticine and in many cases these roadways would have to have a re-ripp which means removing the old steelwork and spoil and replacing with new arches.
