Pretty sure Bert Braithwaite is on this photo as well 2nd left on back row, and I also think exreme right front row knelt down is the late Bob Workman, another plumber with Wigan Corporation.
No accky. Bert isn't on this photo. That is Jack Atherton and the one on the end of the front row is John Smith.

You are probably right about Bert Braithwaite, and looking again it itis probably as you say John Smith, the plumber John Smith, and not Bob Workman as I thought. Can you name any more on the photo's of the Corporation Works outing.

I can make out Charlie Middleton now that you have named him, 8th in from the left. I worked with his son Charlie, who was also a plumber during my working days, but I can't make Charlie senior out on the other photo you posted.Two great photo's, what WW is all about.
