You learn something new every day - I never knew Northern Counties made fire engines, I thought they only made buses. Did they make any other type of vehicles?

did he have a brother and lived in worsley hall for a time in the 70,s ?

Cracking Cheese Gromit
I own the older of the 2 Marlins built for Manchester airport and am in the process of trying to get it back it to working order. It's great to see some pictures of a Marlin when new, even if it isn't my one.
