UNFORTUNATELY NO INFORMATION ON THE LOCATION OR DATE. APPEARS TO BE SOME SORT OF PRESENTATION. MAYBE RETIREMENT?

In the book Images of Wigan produced by the Wigan Evening Post in 1995 this photo has the caption ‘Little Polly Harrison and her pit brow colleagues were all spruced up for this retirement presentation around 1944 at Mains Colliery, Wigan. Her presentation gift for a lifetime’s hard work at the pit was contained in the parcel she has just received – it was a cardigan!’

Mains Colliery was in Bamfurlong, not Wigan.

I thought I had seen this photo somewhere. Thank Alan Hughes Ido have the book I think amongst others.
