Brave men.
My Grt Grandfather John Bradshaw was one of the miners killed in that disaster. He left behind a wife & 3 young boys.

I read the link and recall John Bradshaw’s name Helen. He was very young at 26. Also the two young lads who looked after the pit ponies. What must it have been like for the families whose relatives were never recovered and left down the pit. It was bricked up at the entrance where they may have been. Shocking to read about it.

Very Brave Men indeed.
The sacrifices made to keep the wheels of industry going and warmth in homes never fully appreciated outside the mining communities of the day.
