The steam winding engine had been due to be replaced with a new electric motor etc in a purpose built extension to the engine house and the steam engine and its' surroundings were not in the best of condition. Unfortunately when they broke through the wall between the electric motor house and the main engine house it was found there had been a miscalculation and the electric motor shaft did not line up with the drum shaft, so the steam engine had to carry on while the matter was resolved.
