THANKS TO PAUL FROM PK AUTOMOTIVES, WHO SAVED THESE PHOTOGRAPHS AND MANY MORE SHOWING THEIR RANGE OF PRODUCTS, THE MACHINERY, AND PEOPLE WHO WORKED THERE. FROM BEING SKIPPED WHEN WORKMEN WERE DEMOLISHING PART OF THE OLD POTTERS BUILDING IN LEYLAND MILL, LANE.

Potter's is still trading up at Botanic Court Martland Park. WN5 0JZ Its actually owned by Soho Flordis UK Limited.
They don't make as many of the old Products now , but some are still available on line at www.pottersherbals.co.uk or in Holland & Barrett

I worked there for a few years in the 1970s, the products were excellent until the EEC, now EU Medicines Agency started to interfere resulting in products being modified or stopped being produced, they deemed some herbs of being dangerous even though they had been used for hundreds of years without any ill effects, and producers of herbal medicines had to supply proof their products were effective. There's a well known cough syrup with clout company who now does a Herbal Mucus Cough Syrup which is comparable to a discontinued Potter's product and is, like that was, superb for treating such an ailment.

Jeff Hampson owner of the Malt Extract producing factory at Leyland Mill off Leyland Mill Lane, bought Potter & Clarke and moved the business from London to Leyland Mill Wigan, Harry Hall a Pharmacist and Director moved up with the company then being renamed Potter's Herbal Supplies Ltd. https://collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/people/cp86562/potter-and-clarke-limited

This ephemera would have once been stored in the exhibition room which was located in the Barley and Malt grain storage and mash tun area of the Maltings.

My husband Tony Hampson worked extremely hard to get product licences for all the products proving their efficacy from the MHRA and approval from NICE which we hear a lot about these days! it took years of travelling every week to London.
