Although my last visit to site was 12-03-2010, I am indebted to those Wigan World photographers who, during the year, past the site and took photographs of the construction progress.I only came across these P-A-D since I started this album section and I trust the photographers accept I have no credit in them but it forms the overall record of the Wigan Dam construction phase 2009-2011.I revisited the site late 2011 and will add the photographs I took later on.This view is looking towards Bottling Wood I assume with the dump trucks arriving on site after my last official visit there.

It's looking towards Widdrington Road Barrie and most likely taken from the path at Bottling Wood. Wonder how deep they dug down, when the new wards were being built at the infirmary they had to go down 90 feet before hitting solid enough ground for the foundation pilings.

I think you are correct Cyril, as I went back into my photo's taken during my visits to the site and one of the early ones show the temporary fencing being erected at the top end.I forgot, that as one enters Coppull Lane, that there are side roads off the the Wigan Lane end. At the start of the contract, the trees hid the houses at the top.
