The stonebuilt abutment at the top of the picture is where
the railway line passes over Liverpool Road, the B5320,
which was formerly the A57. There is still a station there,
on the Liverpool to Manchester line.

A lovely idea and a piece of history .. If a bit distracting (for me) driving past though, nice to look at when sauntering past at leisure.
