to Wigan is a "Guy Arab", new in 1962. It is seen here setting off from Derby Square in
Liverpool on its return journey to Wigan.
Great shot!
Nice to see the old Liverpool Corporation bus in Green and White. I imagine painted that colour not to upset the Scousers or Evertonians in the city!!
Brilliant shot Ray , always follow your posts . Do you have a web Ray?
Whenever I see pictures of lovely old busses like this one it always reminds me of On the busses starting Reg Varney. People say I look similar to Olive.
I recall the Liverpool Trams being finished in the same livery.
It would be nice to buy a pint of Walkers these days.
This bus is interesting, as this Guy Arab of Lancashire United had a longer life than most, as a driver training vehicle at Atherton, after withdrawal, it lasted until the early 1980's, the registration number was then transferred to a Charterplan Coach who were part of Greater Manchester Transport, after Greater Manchester Transport had bought out Lancashire United, the registration past around various coach operators, until it reached a bus enthusiast in Sale in South Manchester and is now on his car.
