This is one of the very first Chocks produced by Gullick's. The sheet reads :- 4/120 Tonne Support, Leg Dia 2.875ins, Range 33ins to 46ins and Support Centres 33ins.

Probably only a person who was a miner can answer this question. Did these sturdy metal chocks bend or suffer any other adverse effect when they were subjected to roof heave, and weight?. With wooded props, you got some warning by the creaking of the timber.
