hello jim how are you?lot of owd ones on this photo
Hi Eric, I'm fine, good to hear from you, hope & trust that your keeping well. I will be posting other photo's. I went along to 03 Shop's annual reunion (1st Sunday in December at Moon Under Water) there must have been a dozen in attendance including Paul Gibson, Teddy Dukes, Alan Green and one Dave Farnworth who left Gullick's in the 1980's, a very pleasant afternoon was had by all.
My dad probably knew a few of these,he worked in the machine shops until his retirement in the early nineties,he used to take bets for the bookies. Sad day for Wigan when the place closed down.
Hi James, I worked with your father Jimmy on Capstan Lathes in 01 M/C Shop at Birkett Bank along with Billy McGowan, Ken Roby and Jimmy Prescott. Jimmy Derbyshire was the Foreman, if you were to stand at one end of the M/C shop and shout Jimmy, ten blokes would turn around, I know because I counted them!!. Take a look at the photo entitled Mr E.Chadwick's retirement that I posted earlier, am I correct?
Thanks Jim, can see my dad in the pic you refer to, he had many good years at Gullicks. got me a temp job as Time Clerk in the summer of 1980.As a child i,ve fond memories of the children,s christmas parties. Before he retired he took my Kids to the Bonfire nights.
