Behind the hopper is a train of empty MGR wagons waiting to be loaded and the depart for Fiddlers Ferry via Earls town. The digger drivers used to half fill the MGR wagons and the hopper topped them up.

Instead of all this transportation, ie the Merry go round train. Why not build a power station next to the colliery.

They did exactly that at Agecroft and the ash created after burning the coal was made into building blocks.
