District Nurse Cull, served the Leigh and Westhoughton communities. Not sure of the dates (possibly the early 1900's) but I thought this photo, which is part of the Wigan and Leigh Archive, was of sufficient interest to post. The uniform and to a lesser extent the bike, I found interesting - even though it's not strictly "Wigan", but is now part of Wigan Metropolitan Borough.

Her head doesn't look real.

Hi Stuart, for some reason the head seems out of focus compared to the sharpness of the rest of the photo (she may have moved slightly), and this probably explains your observation.

Looks like its been photo shopped as there are a number of differences' in the original picture as opposed to the head

Now that you mention it Carl, I have to agree. The foreground, background and most of the figure are in focus, why not the face? And that large white bow/collar now seems a little too "convenient" to serve for photoshopping purposes. We might be wrong but it does look suspicious. I hadn't considered it at all until you pointed it out Carl.
