Sorry that the quality is a little poor and brown with age, but it is almost 50 years old.

Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith.
Where are they now.

Davy Jones(Ena Sharples grandson) passed last year but I believe the others still tour...must be short of a few bob!! Always regarded these as the poor mans Beatles!! Never saw them live only their stupid TV show!!
Mind you they sang some catchy numbers!!

Davy Jones, alas, has passed on. Michael Nesmith continues to play his classy country rock, albeit, far too rare these days. Mick Dolenz and Peter Tork continue to tour as the Monkees; but it cannot be the same. The Monkees were a class act in the studio producing a couple of fine albums and a raft of good singles. My favourite was 'Alternate Title' written by Micky Dolenz...Good times growing up and good vibes.

A young Davy Jones from nearby Manchester. With all his charm and talent it's incredible we saw so little of him in later years. The Monkees had the worlds greatest motor, the Monkeemobile.

I remember this Monkees Observer special hanging on Sid Smith's stall in the Old Arcade.
I may have bought it , can't quite remember.

For my part, The Monkees peaked in 1966 with Last Train to Clarkesville although Mike Nesmith turned out a good one in 1977 with Rio. Now that's worth listening to. Micky Dolenz came from a theatrical family I believe and appeared as Circus Boy when he was a nipper.

Good god, how on earth could you class this bunch of out of work actors as musicians? Manufactured for a TV show they had to use session musicians on the majority of their work, the only one who could (almost) sing was Dolenz even the other members handed over the singing parts to him because they just couldn't hack it. Bubble gum music for the 8-13 year old schoolgirls.
