Single deck bus heading to Norley Hall No.9 leaves King street 1970's

This bus would have departed from Library Street. Notice that the bus is full and people are standing. It was unusual to run a single decker on the Norley; these buses usually ran to Orrell Post.

Jarvo yes and then did the cross country route number 20 from Orrell Post to Standish via Shevington. Reason single decker's were used was due to the low bridge at the bottom of Gathurst Hill. This route was the first to be one man operated. I can remember going from Shevington to my granddad,s every Saturday morning on the 0855 from Shevington in the late 1950s and it was one man operated then.
