The truck and trailer belonged to Christian Salvesen who transported the frozen foods for Kwik Save at that time.
Hi Colin ,Yes this is the vehicle I remember changing the
fan belts on the one with the very big alternator on it
weighed about 3 CWT it had to have it on to work the fridge
motor ,thanks for putting it on Colin D.C.
Its parked on double yellow lines.
Garry. It appears to be at some type of check point, within the depot. Probably Colin can enlighten us.
I'll try Albert. Double yellow lines indicate parking is prohibited. Loading and unloading is allowed on double yellow lines at any time unless there are additional markings indicating that there are "Loading restrictions". Here at St Georges shopping centre, in Fishergate, loading and unloading is restricted to 40 mins, but this does depend on the Council, and you must not cause an obstruction to traffic and pedestrians. The passenger side of the cab is the Eurodollor exchange premises, and the brick building at the rear of the trailer is Kwik Save.
Thank you Colin. I didn't realize it was actually a thoroughfare, as there was no pavement to be seen.
Hi I am trying to trace anyone who worked at Ashton depot with jimmy wood, he worked there from about 1984 till it closed. It is his 50th birthday soon and I am trying to organize a surprise party. If you knew him or have contact details for anyone who did can you please let me know
