Kwik Save group take charge of a new Foden C300 tractor unit fitted with a Cummins engine.
Reg H806 YMA fleet number 67. The truck spent a few months on test at the Ashton in Makerfield depot.

Yes On delivery Gary, how else would you test it.
Derrick, the Foden was one of many different type vehicle on test. Remember running cost "ie fuel" was and still is massive in the haulage business. The demonstration trucks was more are less given to Kwik Save at a reduced price, Kwik Save was still the largest operator of Daf trucks in the UK, so many truck manufactures would like a slice of that. The Foden was on demo at most Kwik Save depots up and down the country. Other HGVs on test around that time was Volvo, Mercedes, M.A.N, Renault and so on. But I think Kwik Save as a group still favored the Dafs, especially the 75-330 mid range truck launched in 1992. But as we know, all that changed in 1995. Cheers Derrick.

Colin, I don't remember any of the demo vehicles you have
mentioned I must have been off at the time I know were this
Foden is it's just come M6 at Haydock turning left to go to
Ashton.

Colin, Now you have mentioned it I do remember that Merc
that Paddy drove I also remember the ERF of Christian
Salversons the one with the alternator on that weighed about
3CWT you had to jack up the alternator to adjust the fan belts good memories eh D.C.

For those who don't know what 3 CWT is, it's 152 KILOS. Very heavy.

No it's just come off the m4 at the coldra.it's heading back to the Newport depot.it ran out of there until we had Wellingboro s. r reg scanias
