I worked there myself in the mid to late 60s cut quite a few locos up in my time there, I cant say I enjoyed it, but I made enough money to pay for my wedding in 1966

My grandad Harry Hayes worked there....so did my dad Arthur Hayes...until he went in the army at 19....

My father, Henry(Harry)Bibby also worked at Ince Wagon works along with his father William Bibby before him who was a foreman at the works.
My father then went on to work at Heywood Wagon works.

my dear friend jimmy metcalfe worked here when he was about 16 one day he nocked a bottle of acetylene over he attempted to halt the said bottle as it careered off at a lickhis hands froze onto the bottle so in a scene similar to doctor strangelove he rode the range he ended up being treated for frostbite
