That's a great photo Brian is the pit shunting engine working over BR lines and signals?

Where is Ashton rd? where is it near, thanks.

To the right of the bridge is the golf driving range.

Peter the golf range is to the left of the bridge you can see in the background, and Alan Ashton road is the bridge you can see and its not to far from Golborne Asda, Jack the shunting line is hidden behind the last wagon and it leads to the pit yard.

This may not be the Golborne Pit Shunter, I think it is the one based at Haydock and will be returning there after a short trip working (BR must have given authority to use its metals) taking with it a guards van, of which Golborne did not posses , I spent may a time as a young boy with my Grandad Joe who lived just a few hundred yards away, I also manged a few visits to the SB unfortunately long before I had a camera, mind you a friend of mine, Alan Hart who also lived nearby on Edge Green Lane, of whom I lost touch with after leaving primary school my have more information and possibly photographs
