My dad, Jimmy Eatock, second from left. I have no idea who the other men are but I assume they worked at Walker Bros. the photo must have been taken at some point in the 1950's.

I remember my dad mentioning the name Jimmy Dooney.

Pam
I think this is the Boiler Shop syndicate that won £75,000 on the pools in the late 50s.
The photo L/R. ? Jim Eatock, Lew Grimes, ? Jim Dooney, Joe Greenway. I always thought there were seven.
I worked along side your Dad when his came over to Bolton until he retired.

Hi AB. Am pleased to know that Jimmy is well. I lived across the road from him in Springfield for 30 odd years but have only seen him once since I moved 10 years ago.

Hi...I still live in Wigan...now 85. Good to see the picture...only 6 in syndicate. We won just over £18,000 in total.. (£3,140 each)

Hi Joe. Although I never made your acquaintance, it is good to know you are still with us. In the fifties, you could buy a very nice house, for that sort of money.

Comment by: Roy on 11th May 2014 at 09:28

Joe, calculated on 1955 figures your £3,140 would be worth £71,877 today.
