Dead right Michael, only 121 of them and counting.

Comment by: terry almond on 30th January 2014 at 18:49

I could load them up again and keep the moaners happy.

I don't see the problem, some good pictures here. If you are that unhappy then ignore them and look at what you want to. The more pics the better, its not like WW is swamped with new/unseen photos everyday is it?

It was January about 3ish that is why the pics are very dark looking, the light was fading very quickly had to rush round like a mad thing capturing as much as possible, at that time I was living in London so I had to make the most of the time I had. Before going to Bickershaw I was at Parsonage.I think if the Bickershaw pics in Places could be put together with these snaps it would make one heck of a social, historic document.I thought about giving them to the library but then the moaners would not get to see them..hheeeehehe!

GREAT PICTURES TERRY WORK THIER IN THE SIXT;S ON A NEW AIR SHAFT I THINK THE BUILDING HERE USED TO BE A PUB BUT NOT SURE

This seems to be a derelict domestic residence, how does this relate to a colliery? All info will be appreciated.

I think it definitely used to be a boozer, if you look closely you can just make out the Licensee's sign in gold lettering in the fan light above the door. I used to drive down this road (Plank Lane?)regularly in the late 80's early 90's, I think there was a least another former pub including this and the big one on the corner. It must have been quite a community it its heyday! Great work Terry by the way!

Terry. Is this building an extension to the colliery offices? I think it would be too small for the general office, where the mine manager had his office. Can you recollect what that building was, at the side of it.?

Terry. Was this Bickershaw Colliery, also referred to as Plank Lane.
