This bridge over the canal used to be a stone built "hump-backed" bridge.

In the 60s this bridge was a old wooden swing bridge the
bridge keeper used to live in a house at the side of the road people used to knock on his door all hours ,a lorry
loaded with coal turned right and the front wheel went through the pavement they had to jackup the lorry to get it
out later they put this lift bridge in
