Great Wigan bus, but horrible GMT livery.
Parked outside Bluto's.....Had a good few nights out in Bluto's in the 80s!!
All 81 front entrance Wigan Corporation Leyland Titan double deckers new 1959-68, passed to GMT in 1974,
long PD3s, EJP501-510, GJP8-19, HEK705-707, HJP1-11, and short PD2s, JJP502-509, KEK739-750, AEK1-10B, DEK2-3D, DEK4-7E, and FEK1-9F, as numbers 3201-3251, 3255-3266, 3270-3281, 3285-3288, 3290-3298.The first withdrawals under GMT control in 1975/76 were JJP502-509, and KEK739-750, some had moved to Manchester depots. In 1977, EJP501-510 and AEK1-10B went, followed by GJP8-19 in 1978, HEK706-707 and HJP2-11 in 1979, DEK4-7E in 1980, and DEK2-3D and FEK1-9F in 1981. Also HJP1 lasted until 1981, as did HEK705 that was the only bus remaining in the old Corporation crimson and white since 1978, that is now preserved.
Some ex-Wigan buses appeared on Tameside area bus services in the (late) 1970s: could they have been from the earliest "EJP-" batch of PD3s ?
