"WELL WELL WELL"what can i say ? what do you want me to say?this beast of all loco's was the last one that i needed out of all the class 40's... i remember the day well walking round the branch with my uncle who at the time was a guard there and spotting this inside the shed it really did rock my boat at the time . it was ticking over and has i drew near to it it growled as if to say "im your worst nightmare stay back GGGRRRRRRRR" MEGA MEGA BEAST FROM HELL GGGRRRRRRRR hear it growl nice upload. RON THIS PICCY HAS MADE MY SUNDAY AFTERNOON gggrrrrrrrrrr
Grrrrrrrr...What a heap of rubbish. It has as much character as the mystery owner of WW...NONE!
1) Cold
2) Drafty
3) Handbrake didn't work
4) At times unreliable
5) Noisy
But i think most Loco men wouldn't call them crap, they could put the power down to the rail head as well if not better than most traction and i suppose that's what its all about
Put it against a BR 9F steam engine, now thats real living power. There is no better sound and sight than a 8F at full power working on a gradent fully laden with goods or passenger coaches. (sorry cullie)
