Him & Ronnie Lynn used to play for the Old Pear Tree, in the Burtonwood Rosebowl
i also played for the pear tree in the same comp & we won it . frank feilding had it then.
The year was more like 1976 1977 and sadly Sid Harrison is no longer alive.
Art. When you make reference to the "Old Pear Tree", Do you refer to the pub in Frog Lane, Wigan? If so, what a great pub it was. Was Dicky Walls, a Spring Viewer, who went to Spring View Boys' School?

I remember playing the Old Pear Tree in the Burtonwood Winter Darts League, late 70's. We were the Black Horse at Standish, now the Lychgate. Last time we played you, I drew Steve Cussick. He did surgery on me :) Year later, I remember watching the Pear Tree v Simms Road Inn at Tiffanys in the Observer Team final. Did you play that day Brian ?
yes i did standisher , but we played the victoria from hindley in the final at tiffanys & i played peter fishwick to win it 4-2 . it was in 1981 . if you look on the sports section under wigan observer darts where are son pics on there including that final .
