my dad used to work at northern counties

I no a lot of lads who used to work there, said it was a belting place to work.

Apparantly people where only known by there nick names, never there real ones.

I believe a few where, Pigeon face, zippy, catdick, mavis, terry thomas, bigamist, iron lungs, baboon, slippers, commando, borky, chisel chin, bog brush.

Charming, sounded a right place to work

To work at northern counties was a privelige.. great set of lads young and old ... i was there 1999 untill it closed... genuine people... i made alot of friends there...

I worked in the body shop at Counties until 1990 and have great memories. My dad, Graham, was a wood cutting machinist and worked at both Wigan Lane and Enfield Street.
