The last broadsheet Wigan Examiner on Friday June 9th 1961. The paper was published every Tuesday and Friday and cost threepence. Their offices were based at 62 King Street.

Sad but it couldn't compete with the Wigan Observer. Today however all newspapers are struggling with the internet and so on.
