Never heard of it?
One line they specialised in was printed envelopes for churches' giving schemes.
Golborne Printing later known as Lockie Press was a well known firm in the Golborne area.Im afraid I dont know any of the people in the photo !
2nd row and 2nd from right I think is Eric Erlam who later worked at Wigan Printing Co. on Chapel Lane.
Apologies Eric Erlam worked at Wigan Printing Co. prior to this photo being taken, is that you Harry 3rd from left 2nd row.
To Rev David Long, Lockie Press Printed and cut the envelopes for Lockie Envelopes where they were made up into envelopes. They were situated next door and owned by Leo Stringmans daughter Jose and husband Rick.
Hi Geoff Nice to hear from you, you are right that is me third from the left, but it's Ken Earlam not Eric, you are thinking of Eric Irvine who was also at Wigan print when I was there, sadly both Ken and Eric have recently passed away. H.
Eric sadly passed away the day after we returned from our Parish Holiday - his was the last Funeral I took as Vicar of St Mary's. A real gentleman.
Hi Harry C
What a nice surprise when Joe Topping telephoned me regarding the photo, good old days.
Joe still looks the same today as he did then, cannot say the same about myself.
Saddened over Ken & Flo passing.
Thanks for the comment Harry, I got Eric and Ken mixed up, sorry to hear they have passed away they were nice people.
Hi Peter, it's good to hear from you I hope you and Joanne are well. Joe came to see me in Gemini Print about doing some work for him a few years ago, and Bill Hyde used to come in when he was doing some reping, but I have been retired for eight years now. I was talking with your cousin Mike a while back at Wigan Sailing Club, he had taken his son for some canoe training. Cheers H.
Nice to remember...what do you look like now,Harry?

Hi Harry, thanks for call, sorry I was out, glad you are keeping well, apart from Meniere's, I still take the tablets dread having any more attacks. The photo is great, I don't remember it being taken though. Still see Kath for a catch up every few months. Regards Ann M
Hi. I worked there for about 9 months from 1974 - 75 as a layout artist working with Joe Topping and Brian Starr. I recognise quite a few of you from the pic - Happy Days
Peter
I knew both Bill Hyde and Leo Stringman, Bill was head groom at Leo's hunting yard at Ashton Road and taught me to ride when I was a boy.He was a saint of a man (Bill) and was like an older brother to me. I can never thank him enough for introducing me to horses.I still ride daily aged 60+
I was not working at Lockie Press when this photo was taken, but I do remember all of the gang in the print. It would be terrific if any one of you will contact me by email.
I am the young bloke with the moustache. I left macs, started here 1983 and left for wigan observer in 87.
