Don't know much about trains but this is taken from a collection of slides I got from a House Clearance There were hundreds of slides of trains and buses I'll be putting them on the site in the future, when I can determine which ones relate to the Wigan Area.

Why are these being uploaded? It's for old photos on here - not modern pictures of dull modern trains. I'm fed up of seeing train pics from recent times - the old steam trains are great but these are just rubbish.
This is an interesting shot and should be of interest to all Wiganers. This Class 350 is a driver training trip between Crewe and Preston to familiarise drivers on the Type before introduction of 350/4's on Transpennine Express trains between Manchester Airport and Glasgow/Edinburgh. The 350/4's are slowly being introduced through Wigan as they arrive from the manufacturers but will probably be routed via Bolton & Chorley in 2016 when that line is electrified.
