Westwood Lane bridge to the rear - and St Mary's Institute may be seen to the right of the terrace of houses beside the bridge.

yet again mick you've blown my mind 40035. again i know for sure im on this picture never do you see so many window hangers or flailers has we call them today and it's no surprise with another beast from hell giving it what for gggrrrrrrrr listen too its growl n thrash and not forgetting it's whisling turbo im gob smacked never has my flabber been so gasped great stuff yet again mick keep um comming and can i please have a copy for my own use cheers.........cullie

Such lovely memories of my Dad - he was a goods guard based at Springs Branch. he died in 1976. he loved his job and was so happy doing it.

Yep I was on this one too. Front window possibly. 86254 down from Oxenholme just to get prime position when the 40 came on at Preston. I still recall the hellfire departure from Preston. 40126 up the North Wales coast the following day. 14 years old and just one month into my all too brief (but intense) 40 bashing career. Sheer magic.

I use to secondman 1M22 from Wigan to Lime Street, always drew a good crowd
