God, thats more boring than spending all your life on here

Comment by: Lumper on 9th May 2013 at 18:30

Very good!

Great sense of humour Wiganer lol!!!

Comment by: Rev David Long on 9th May 2013 at 23:24

Why is Alf being pilloried for his submissions? People post all sorts of stuff here I've no interest in (football programmes, for instance), but I can skim past it without getting upset, or ridiculing the posts/ posters. Whatever folk post in this feature becomes part of the archive, which others can access in the future, depending on their area of interest, be it football or pit props. For their sake, surely we can put up with having stuff we're not interested in pass by.

WIGANER, what happened to YAWN YAWN YAWN??????

Comment by: Colin Harlow on 10th May 2013 at 08:18

Your absolutely right Rev Long, People on this site all have different interest, most just skip the post their not interested in, but others have to make rude and ignorant comments about the subjects. It's about time they grew up!

If you find Wigan World so boring, mincer, switch to TV. Something like Watch with Mother should be right up your street.

As Bill says it's a bit of fun.. get a life you miserable buggers. Half the photos are duplicated and out of Focus anyway. Thought I was starting with a migraine<g>

Comment by: Loz on 10th May 2013 at 11:27

Love the caption on the front cover! There's nothing boring about powered roof supports when you're working at the face and they're stopping you from being crushed. AND it's a Wigan industry. I don't know what Gullick's output is these days, but their products went all over the world. This is surely something to be proud of.

Comment by: Garry on 10th May 2013 at 13:36

People hide behind their name because they can't face reality so they don't use their real name, only a decoy name. In other-words "COWARDS".

Comment by: Jimmy on 10th May 2013 at 14:09

I would rather look at photos of a Wigan industry than someones Aunt Fanny getting married, or on holiday at Southport.
Family photos are for the family, and should be kept there.

Comment by: David Arkwright on 10th May 2013 at 14:48

Garry just because you put GARRY that does'nt identify you does it? If you want to be identified put your full name and address, and e.mail address. Show you aren't a COWARD<g>

Comment by: Wiganer on 10th May 2013 at 14:52

This is much better than fishing. I've had more bites today than I've had in a long time. Ha Ha Ha.

Comment by: Garry on 10th May 2013 at 17:25

David Arkright, its better than ABC 123. Maybe your names made up.

Comment by: Josh on 10th May 2013 at 19:19

I'm sure no one is suggesting Alf be "put in the stocks". After all he's posted his genuine Wigan "interests" - but it would have been better if he'd kept a sense of proportion - 3 or 4 photos fine, but 30 to 40 pics of "roof supports" is simply anal.

Comment by: wiganer on 10th May 2013 at 23:54

Garry, Are you the not so bright spark ,[dimmer than a two watt bulb] if you can't take the flak back ,don't give itout

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 11th May 2013 at 18:48

Josh, you`ve hit the nail bang on the head.

Comment by: Malcolm Frostwick on 14th May 2013 at 12:59

Seems a lot of work using paint to make a rude point.
Keep up the good work Alf your pictures will be well received around the world. PS Gullick Dobson now belongs to Joy Mining. An American Company. Gullick Dobson were very good to me when studying for my Colliery Under Managers Qualification.

Comment by: Charlie Caroli on 14th May 2013 at 15:04

It would appear the name JOY MINING is very inappropriate considering the miserable buggers that worked at Gullick's
IT'S A JOKE FOR GOD'S SAKE. GET A LIFE...
