Due to the 1984 Miners Strike, Gullick Dobson Service Engineers were unable to access the National Coal Board (NCB) Colliery’s also the Company could not deliver any Roof Supports for the duration of the Strike, therefore various GD Service Engineers from Wales, Scotland and North East England were moved to Wigan to work , We were accommodated in the Bellingham Hotel, Wigan Lane, We the Service Engineers converted an old disused workshop in Manchester Road into a construction site ,dismantling ,assembling, mothballing and storing different types of Roof Supports, the following Photograph’s were taken at this time.
