OMG jarvo's been converted into a class 40 lover. i did try to warn people that class 40's are demon's grrrrrrrrrrrr hear it speak and that head board is just great ggggrrrrr mega mega beast

actually gents at 2000hp max rating they where underpowered for the jobs given to them,loadings had to be cut back on jobs such as the caledonian or they would struggle over the nortern hills.competence over such express workings where only restored by use of the class of diesels rated 2750 hp
sorry to put a dampener on your beliefs.though their size gave the impression of more humpf.they where placed on secondary duties asap with the arrival of the class now known as 47's

West Coast Main Line, had the heavy traffic and the challenging inclines, so the 'Deltics' went to the East Coast Main Line: I never did understand that one ????
