Ron.. If you look under work then mining there is a picture titled "number 1 engine" the buildings in both pics look to be the same. So its more than likely Ince Moss Colliery!

Well spotted, definitely the same building from a differnet position.
My Great x 3 Aunty Jane Lee, From 3 Herds Yard, Wigan was a Pit-brow labourer in 1871. and could possible be one of those women in the photo
