A sight long gone but was very common at one time. This photograph shows two of the last barges to carry coal. This photograph was taken in the 1960's just approaching Dean Lock at Gathurst.

In the top right hand corner can be seen the mixture of old buses and railway carriages that served as a home to people who lived on the sloping field.Well done Ron,brilliant photos.
my dad once told me that the buses were CADDMANS OF ORELL ithink they were painted green and white .i seem to remember that the frame of one of then is still in the corner of the field.well it was a couple of years ago.
