I wonder how many stayed the distance and how many are still with us. I can see my name on this list, but moved shortly after amalgamation to the east of Manchester, never to really return except for the odd visit to relatives. There are some good bobbies on the list who were characters in their own right and good thief takers.

It's fantastic to see all these names, including my dad, PC5681 Lol Connelly. I recently visited Gordon Miller and John Hook and spoke to Joe Pey at my dads funeral in 2009 (age 90). Remember fondly Freddie Dyke (eeh luv, that wasn't nice),Bill and Jack Parkinson, Dick Ashurst, Jack Tennant, Joe Keegan, Ken Gray, Dick Humphries, Ken Harrison, Joe Lydon, Jack Webster. Not forgetting Bill Taylor. Also still see Jimmy Clinch. Still miss the Boro Bobies!!!
