Who makes bus bodies these days or did Northern Counties move to new premises?

Northern Counties is no more, John. The main UK bus builder is Alexander/Dennis.

For some reason Nottingham city transport always had these bumpers at the front

Leyland Atlantean and Fleetline Northern Counties bodied double deckers for West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Nottingham parked outside Wigan college in August 1980. The middle one is a GMT Fleetline, but isn't going to be based at the Wigan depot, as it preferred the Atlantean, unlike Leigh depot who got Fleetlines.
