Given the date, and the 'BH' on the pocket of the man on the right, I would have said it was Billinge Hospital.
With the low ceiling & large windows, it looks very much like Billinge "G" (geriatric) Wards.
The nurses are wearing Wigan style caps.
I think you're right Art. I remember her telling me about the old folk she cared for, and also taking me there when I was about 8 yrs old, to show me where she worked. I just couldn't remember which hospital it was.
The man with BH on his uniform was Mr Jack Calvert who died some years ago.He did mainly work on D2 ward at Billinge hospital which was for infirm male elderly.
I think the stdent nurse 3rd from right is Sandra ? became a staffnurse on upper johnson 1977/78.
No it isn't me 3rd from right, never worked on elderly ward at Billinge, and I was the only Sandra working on Upper Johnson at the time.
