Springs Branch driver Tommy Crook in the cab of a class 47,on the 25 February 1983, before setting out on a nights work. He didn't look like that in real life ! Great mate, always joking, frightened me to death that night. Sadly missed by every body that had the pleasure to know him. Happy days, long gone.

My brother worked there from leaving school in the fifties, (he's 12 or 13 years my senior), until around 1966 or thereabouts. His name is Colin Griffiths. When I was a little girl, he would take me to the sheds when he collected his wages, and lift me up onto the footplate of the old steamers when the men were shovelling coal into the firebox. Were't those trains MAGIC?!

This is my dad. It was lovely to see a photograph of him and to read those kind comments about him. He was a wonderful dad and he is still really missed.
