The head of maths was Mr. Day, and he was a brilliant teacher and an ardent fan of St. helens rugby team. I believe that he played rugby union for Nottingham university

Hi Harry,
I just saw your login re the Thomas Linacre teachers, I was in thesame class as you and remember Dennis Pegg, Livesey, Charnock (metalwork), Melling (metalwork), Gelling (German), John Holt (metalwork, violinist - our grandmothers were sisters), Len Smith the physics master, a friend of my father who also taught him.
Brings back memories, I am living in SE Ireland these days... I hope you are keeping well, you were always happy and laid back at school.
