Hi Jas. As you possess both the 1958 & 1962 school photos can I take it that you come from a rich family? :o) They're great nostalgia pictures so thanks for putting on the site. Look forward to seeing the other parts of the 1962 photo.
Frank. Rest of 62 pic not yet in good fettle - publish soon.
hi frank,,yes i do have both foto,s but far from rich,,wayward son spent all the family silver on women ,booze and more women, must confess at being a novice with pc,s and the like,as per last comment my fettler in trying to cobble together my pathetic attempsd at uploading the 1962 version,,,and as for the the 1958 pic that was uploaded by kind permission of Ed(edwin)Fort an ex work collegue and was also in the same year,,so he is one there somewhere,,can recognise him on the 62 one but not sure about this,,,where he is,,,,,balance of 62 will be on soon am sure,,
Frank. Wot dus "o:)" mean?
Hi Trencher. I was told by somebody from Finland that :o) was a sort of sophisticated smile. Don't tell me I've been duped (again)?
See what you mean Frank. A face turned on its side...only trouble Franky Boy ... Joe Boz's Alter Ego uses the same signature ... ah well! .. such is death.
Hi Trencher. Nice piece of observation. Do you know who the "Ghost of Joe Boz" is?
No Frank. Best bet would be Cliff Higham but its probably too well written. Cliff tends to be sloppy. Jas Holding maybe. He can write well when he needs to. Then there is Curly who you suspect - dont think Culy has the imaginatioon. But it may well be Freddy Mason - he fits the bill - knew Joe Boz - writes well. My bet is that it is "the Ghost of Joe Boz". Mercy Joe .. it wasnt me honest..arghh!
Hi Trencher. Thanks for the insight. I've just looked at the photos of Fred Mason now (Blog site) and then (1957 picture). I see what you mean: a real mischievous face. No offence meant Fred :o)
Hi Trencher and Frank, Not me, mates....Not guilty, m'lud..!! I reckon it's the real ghost..Old Joe never dies.!!!!
Taking the very back row, left to right and looking at all 22 pupils, I can name a few I think…...Harry Robinson, Graeme? Clough, Andy? Martlew, ___?, Jem? Winstanly, Roy? Halsall, ___?, Roy? Abernethy, Edgar Naylor, ___?, ___?, we now “drop down” I can’t name the next 4 but then comes, Tom? Hooton, ___?, Ian? Houghton, Ralph Edmondson, Shaw, Andrew? Wilson, ___? Apologies for missing certain christian names and for forgetting some names completely.
A few more, 5th row up, right to left from the end, James, Keith Ashton, Coleclough, Hammond, Chris M “Tubby” Edwards, Tom Walsh.
Sorry for wasting everyone's time when Orrellite did a much better identification job some 5 years ago! The first "batch" should read:-
Harry Robinson, Graham Clough, Andrew Martlew, Jack Seddon, Eric Winstanley, Alan Halsall,Harold Bibby, John Abernethy, Edgar Naylor, Dennis Rhoden, Frank Malley,- thanks Orrellite.
