I was in the same year but not in Mr. Pigot's class. I do recognise quite a number of faces but only a few names.eg. Brian Aspinall, George Halton, Frank Atherton, Florence Newton,( I fancied her), and a girl on her left called Marjorie ? The ones I have named moved into my class later on.Teachers:-Misses Birch (Mrs Aldridge), Anderson,Redfern,Marsden, Phythian. Headmaster John Willie Starkey, Headmistress Miss Starkey, his sister.Remember ringing the gong outside Standard 2 classroom of Miss Redfern. Was in Miss Anderson's class the day King Gearge 6th died.I remember it as if it was yesterday not 56 years ago. Truly happy days!

David, What memories. I remember Mrs Aldridge, wonderful teacher, Mrs Redfern lived on a farm, Miss Marsden had a ruler (whacked our legs) Miss Phythian shouted "tang" and slapped us on the hands when something went wrong, and of course, ol'e John Willie Starkey. Not a bad old chap really..The fifties were such pleasant times all around, weren't they.
